Nursery progress

What a productive, non-vomiting weekend!

The Painting of the Nursery happened this weekend.  Like I've said before, the rate at which we prepare for this baby is a point of contention between Michael and I.  I keep setting far-off (reasonable, non-jinxing!) deadlines and he keeps sneaking them forward.  We weren't supposed to even begin preparing the nursery until twenty-four weeks.

He painted it this past week.

Part of prepping the walls for painting included erasing the to-do list that I wrote for last September's Scotland trip from the chalkboard wall.  It felt like some kind of rite-of-passage.  While I am getting excited about our new addition, it still made me sad.  Maybe we'll get to go back in 2040 when we're retired ...

The mess we had to start with.
This room used to be the dogs' room (hence the dingy carpeting),
and after the dogs were moved it became the place where unwanted
furniture went to form a community.

The chalkboard wall!
Priming!
More priming.  Be sure to note the fabulous rooster lamp sitting on the couch.
After.  I'm in love with the green paint.
The chalkboard wall is now a legacy of the past.

There's obviously still a lot of work to be done, including getting some of that furniture out of there, but it's looking so much better already.  Next project: Replacing the carpeting!  It's going to be a dark grey.
