Parenthood is three-hour overnight sleep sprints, entire days of inexplicable fussiness, three cup coffee breakfasts, doing everything with one hand, sacrificing things you never thought you’d sacrifice, pureed peas crusted on your favorite shirt, three cup coffee lunches, poop in your bathtub, never getting to see your spouse, four cup coffee dinners, nebulizers, ear infections, and buying car seats instead of new shoes.

But it’s also watching your daughter grow up and learn to eat bananas on her own, and those are the moments when you realize it’s all worth it.
