It's been a long, exhausting day.  But a good, long, exhausting day.

It started at the Strong Museum of Play.  Gloria made baby friends, and I had an excuse to use all of the fun toys and equipment that I was previously told I was too old for.

All of the other babies made me realize that Gloria is a MOOSE.  There were fourteen-month-olds sprinting around that were smaller in stature than Gloria.  She terrified a twelve-month-old, Godzilla style, into cowering in a corner as she hovered over him.  I thought she was fairly normal sized, but putting her into natural baby habitat made me realize how wrong I was.  I think for Halloween I'm going to find a tiny gorilla costume and glue toy planes around it.

But the best part?  The best part was the end of the day.  I like to give Gloria naked run-around time after her bath.  Not because this has any benefit to her, but because I'm lazy and this way she can air dry.  Tonight I left Mike in the room while I went to the kitchen to make up her medication.  Mike is always wary of naked baby time, because he's convinced that she'll poop everywhere, which she never does.

Last night, on my way back I rounded the corner to her room and heard panicked voices.  A few more steps and I see Gloria - naked, screaming, and covered in baby poop - suspended midair.  Sarah was gagging and holding G up by her arms as Mike yelled at me and tried to save Goodnight Moon from smeared feces (a failed mission, if you care to know).

I find very little to be funnier than the reactions of my husband and sister to baby excrement (especially when I'm not involved), so the "I told you so's" from Michael were completely worth it.  This, my friends, is what parenthood is really about.
